The shotgun is a strong weapon that you may obtain quite early on in Resident Evil 7, but obtaining it is difficult because you must first locate the Scorpion Key to enter Grandma’s Room. The more potent M21 Shotgun may be obtained even later in Resident Evil 7, but first, you must obtain the Snake Key.
This guide will show you exactly how to obtain the M21 Shotgun and the Shotgun in Resident Evil 7 so you can defend yourself against the Molded. Just be aware that you must complete a task to obtain the Red and Blue Keycards in RE7 before you can obtain the M21 Shotgun.
How to Get the Shotgun in Resident Evil 7?
To keep the shotgun in Resident Evil 7 permanently, you must swap the real one in the Main Hall with the broken one from Grandma’s room.
There is a statue with a shotgun in a small chamber on the south side of the Main Hall of the home, which is where the three Dog Head puzzle in Resident Evil 7 is located. You must locate a broken Shotgun to replace this functional Shotgun because picking it up causes the door to lock behind Ethan. This is a nod to a puzzle in the original Resident Evil game. Grandma’s Room is in the second-floor Recreation Room, and the Broken Shotgun is secured behind a Scorpion Key door.
How to get the M21 Shotgun in Resident Evil 7?
To combine the two and obtain the superior M21 Shotgun in Resident Evil 7, you must locate the Repair Kit and Model Shotgun. However, you can’t accomplish this until you obtain the Snake Key, so continue playing the game until your goal returns you to the Dissection Room to obtain the Snake Key in a very gruesome manner.
Step 1 – Get the Repair Kit
The Repair Kit is always available in the Yard’s hidden crawlspace, which is situated between the two staircases that lead up to the Main House. To reveal the crawlspace, crouch and remove the metal covering. Then, open the box, retrieve the Repair Kit, and place it in an item box for later use.
Step 2 – Get the Model Shotgun
You can use the Snake Key to unlock the Kid’s Room on the second floor, which is across from the Recreation Room, once you beat Marguerite and obtain it from the Dissection Room. Press the lamp switch inside the Kid’s Room to start a ladder, ascend the ladder into the Main House Attic, and look for the Model Shotgun in the lower-right corner.
Step 3 – Get the M21 Shotgun
Return to the bust statue in the Main Hall’s small southern room after making sure your inventory has at least two empty spots. Take the model shotgun you discovered in the attic and swap it out for the broken one. All you need to do now is combine the broken shotgun with the repair kit you previously discovered in the yard to obtain the upgraded M21 shotgun.
